Cuisine: Indian

Maybe it’s the long menu, the buzzing family-friendly atmosphere, the fresh Balti-style food or the fact that it has been around for more than 20 years and not lost its charm, but there’s more than one reason the place is usually packed, especially at the weekend. Pleasingly, most mains come in at less than $20, with chicken tikka masala $16.90 and tender palak gosht (lamb in a spinach sauce) $16.90 just a couple worthy of mention. Tandoori lamb cutlets $16 are excellent, while vegetarians are catered for with dishes such as patiala baingan (eggplant) $16. If you’re dining in a group, opt for the banquet $30 and sample as much as you can. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows facing the street make for good people-watching.
