Cool. Clubby. Consistent. That’s what you can expect at the Miranda outpost of the Thai Riffic chain. With its trademark red chandelier and ornate rickshaw on display, it creates a space where you’re happy to linger despite the comfortless chairs. Try some prawn cakes, seasoned chicken and prawn mince lightly fried $7.90. They make a nice change from the ubiquitous fishcakes. Meanwhile, crispy duck salad with chilli jam, lime and basil $18.50 is fragrant with a good amount of heat. The massaman beef curry $15.50, perfumed with star anise, is tender enough to enjoy with just a spoon. The staff are pretty sweet, too. It may not be ground-breaking stuff but who knew one could find such comfort from a place bearing a neon sign?
