Padron time again

December 2009

Just got word from farmer Richard Mohan in Maleny that his summer crop of pimientos de padron are ready to eat. You remember the little green Spanish peppers that you fry in olive oil, sprinkle with salt and eat by the stalk – and every now and again you get your mouth blown off with heat, but you can never tell which of the sneaky little varmints is gonna get you.
Richard is now doing very well with them and you’ll find the at Rockpool Bar & Grill, Bentley Bar, Marque and Bodega. Or you can call or email Richard ( 0425 151 229) and he’ll send you a kg. Perfect summer afternoon snack with a icy beer or ditto  glass of fino.
